Red Bank Regional
Course of Action
Step 1 - Keep case volume minimal at any cost
The first priority of returning to school is keeping everyone safe. If this means converting to an entirely remote schedule for weeks on end, this is what will be done. RBR did just this in shutting down the school in heat of a rise in case volume and transmission possibly school related.
Step 2 - Start limited amounts of In person learning
Once cases are under control, RBR is able to put student learning first. In doing this, school is opened part time for half days in a hybrid schedule with two cohorts. Half of the students come in instead of the entire student body to make it easier to comply to social distancing guidelines. Students are also required to wear masks at all times and sterilize often.
Step 3 - Cohorts are combined + attendance is increased
After the hybrid schedule has proven successful and transmission is at a record low, it becomes time to advance to a "riskier" schedule. RBR combines the two cohorts so that all students will return to school 4 half days per week with a virtual day on Wednesday. Social distancing and mask guidelines are still upheld.
Step 4 - Return to a full time schedule
The final step in returning to normalcy in education is just what it sounds like. RBR will return to a schedule with full days every day of the week with a full student body. The only differences we will see from before the virus outbreak is that some students may opt to become all remote and virus guidelines will still have to be strictly upheld while in the school building.
