Hybrid Learning Option
The majority of schools have opted for a hybrid learning option. This option means that students will go to school on a part time in person and part time at home schedule. This allows for the student body to be divided into two groups to decrease capacity at schools making it easier to comply to social distancing and safety guidelines while in the school building.

Cons
Pros and Cons to returning to school on a hybrid learning schedule, partially in person and partially remote

PROS
Some of the pros of returning to school part time in a hybrid learning atmosphere are...
-
Limited capacity in school buildings allow for social distancing regulations to be more easily followed
-
A constant change between in person and remote learning prepares students for situations in which virtual learning may be the only option
-
Small cohorts allow for simple contact tracing in circumstances of possible virus transmission
-
Students can get the feeling of some sort of normalcy in going to school, but not to the extent that puts their safety in jeopardy
-
Smaller class sizes allow for a more focused and one on one in person class which is beneficial to students
CONS
Some of the cons of returning to school part time in a hybrid learning atmosphere
-
Constant change from in person to remote learning can be stressful for students and rob them of any sort of routine
-
Hybrid learning means that students are expected to have the proper technology and workspace at home to attend classes and work productively, which unfortunately isn't the reality for so many students
-
Lack of routine in the hybrid learning schedule makes it difficult for any student to stay organize, which has a negative impact on work quality
-
With minimal students attending school each day on the hybrid schedule, students lack the opportunity for social skill development and may not ever see some of their classmates from other cohorts in person
-
The hybrid schedule is a lot to keep up with for some students and leads them with little room to take on other activities, so there is an understandable lack of enrollment in extracurriculars for this reason
